West point GREY VANCOUVER
After living in their custom-built home for over 20 years, the owners decided it was time for a substantial renovation, aiming to breathe new life into their space and rectify certain design discrepancies. Their original plan, crafted without the assistance of a professional interior designer, had left some areas feeling disjointed and lacking in harmony. In their pursuit of a renovation, the owners made a conscious decision to preserve the traditional essence of their home, incorporating a design aesthetic heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement.
Embracing the intricate details and craftsmanship associated with this style, the renovation project carefully integrated bespoke wooden elements, intricate detailing, and rich color palettes, including original wallpaper designed by renowned artist William Morris. The interior design choices paid homage to the movement’s emphasis on handcrafted materials, with a focus on quality and authenticity. By infusing the space with updated transitional-styled pieces and subtle nods to nature, the homeowners successfully upheld the rich history of their dwelling while infusing it with contemporary functionality.
